'Shooting star', the Renault Filante

Renault is steering into a new era of upscale mobility with the introduction of the Renault Filante, a daring crossover that signals the brand’s global move toward premium offerings. Part of Renault’s International Game Plan 2027, the Filante is designed to combine avant-garde styling, cutting-edge technology, and a focus on comfort and well-being, positioning itself as a strong contender in the large crossover segment.

The name Filante, which translates to “shooting star” in French, is symbolic of Renault’s vision for this new model. It conjures images of travel, elegance, and performance—linking back to the brand’s historic Étoile Filante, a record-breaking, aircraft-inspired vehicle from 1956. Renault has further emphasized its futuristic ambitions with the Filante Record 2025, an electric concept car showcasing advanced efficiency and range.  

Renault plans to build the Filante in Busan, South Korea, initially targeting the Korean market before expanding to other regions. This move underscores the company’s strategy to strengthen its global footprint in the premium vehicle segment, particularly outside Europe. 

Renault will unveil the car at the world premiere Renault Filante in Seoul 13 January 2026.
